Fantastic news for Texarkana. We all love the fact that our Arts and Historic District is growing and it's bringing in visitors and economic growth for the Texarkana area. But a recent study shows it's making a big impact in the economy for Texarkana.

The Texarkana Arts and Historic District published an economic impact study to measure the growth of the downtown Arts & Historic District over the last year, and the impact is impressive. This new study included the number of visitors, spending and hosted events in 2022.

Here's what the study found, there was a total economic impact of $9.1 million from direct and indirect expenditures all from the Texarkana Arts & Historic District.

According to a press release:

The study estimates that $6.5 million was spent in Texarkana, USA's local economy from all the events that took place in 2022. Additionally, indirect expenditures accounted for $2.6 million for a total economic impact of $9.1 million from arts and culture in Texarkana in 2022.

The study also showed that approximately 71,561 visitors came to local events that were associated with the Texarkana Arts & Historic District in 2022. The Perot Theatre had 22,899 people at its events in 2022. But other venues like Front Street Plaza, Crossties, the Texarkana Farmers’ Market, and the United States Post Office and Federal Courthouse Square also hosted big events throughout the year which added a lot to the number of people visiting the downtown area.

Keep up the great work downtown and let's all keep supporting the business and events that take place in the Texarkana Arts & Historic District and watch it bring in even more economic growth to Texarkana. Grow Baby Grow!
