The Princeton-Caldwell County Airport continues to make improvements with the latest upgrade to the airport a new beacon tipdown pole.

Councilman and airport board member Jim Joiner announced at the Princeton City Council meeting this week that the newest beacon pole was installed Tuesday that was 100% funded by the Kentucky Department of Aviation.

This is just one of the continuing improvements at the airport. Joiner announced at a July 2022 city council meeting that the board was submitting applications seeking funding for a proposed project to build 10 new t-hangars as well as a box hanger to house maintenance and flight instructing for 2023.

Joiner told the News Edge Wednesday that the t-hangars will be built but the airport has not secured funding at this time.

The Princeton-Caldwell County Airport opened in 1962 and averages nearly 25 aircraft operations daily.
